To use Text Grabber‚Ñ¢, select the special Text Grabber tool and use it to drag across the page area which contains the text you wish to change. This selection procedure is very similar to creating a Quark text box. The selected area will then be "Marqueed" by the XTension for easy reference.
Once you have selected an area to work with, the Text Grabber dialog will appear. The Text Grabber dialog is similar to Quark's "Character..." dialog. With Text Grabber, any specifications entered here will be applied to all of the text within the selected area, regardless of which box(es) contain the text.

All of the choices in this dialog default to being disabled. This allows the user to change only the attributes they want. By default, any attributes other than the Style attributes will override the existing attributes in the selected area. For instance, if the user changes the point size to 18 pt., then all of the text within the selected area will be changed to this size, regardless of the original text size.
There are several options for the Style attributes. These attributes can be set up to either Override, Add To, or be Removed from the existing style attributes in the selected area. For instance, it is possible to select an area containing both Bold and Plain type, and simply add the Italic attribute to that text without affecting any of the other attributes.
Once you have entered your changes, you may want to use the Apply button to preview your changes. When you are satisfied, hit OK to accept the changes, or click Cancel and your document will not be changed.

Grabber‚Ñ¢ Undo Feature
All of the Grabber XTensions provide complete Undo/Redo capability. If you wish to Undo or Redo your changes, use the Grabber‚Ñ¢ menu (available under Quark's Edit menu), or use the Grabber Undo/Redo hot key sequence (Cmd-Option-Z).

Changing Multiple Areas
After changing one area of a page, you can quickly apply those same changes to a different area. Just hold down the Control and Command keys while you drag out the Text Grabber marquee (notice that the cursor changes to an arrow rather than the crosshairs when you do this). The previous set of changes will be applied to the selected area instantly! To change your settings, just drag out the marquee without holding down the Control and Command keys and fill in the dialog as normal. Your new changes will be saved.
Working with Style Sheets
Select a style sheet from the Text Grabber popup menu and the character information from that style sheet will be loaded for you. Click Apply or OK to apply the style information to the marqueed area.

Text Grabber "Hot Spots"
Text Grabber lets you change only the attributes you wish. To disable an attribute, select Don’t Change from the popup menu (for Font, Size, Color and Shade), or un-check the checkbox (for Scale, Track and Baseline Shift values). To quickly reset an item, simply click on the title of the item. For instance, to change the Font selection to Don’t Change, just click on the words "Font:" which appear to the left of the popup menu. The selection will be reset instantly. To reset ALL of the dialog items, select "No Style" from the style sheet popup menu, or click on the words "Based on:". This "Hot Spot" method allows you to change any attribute very quickly.
